Microsoft Lync is crashing when trying a Video Call with Nvidia Optimus enabled ( in Bios ).
Lync is working if this is done:
- Uninstalled the Nvidia Drivers and only used Intel Drivers.
- BIOS: Enabled the display to only use Integrated Display card.
- BIOS: Enabled the display to only use discrete Display card.
First we suspected that we had done something wrong with our image. But then we tried a new computer with Lenovo image, and it was the same problem.
Lenovo image has little bit older Nvidia Optimus drivers than what we used, but the problem is the same.
Is there any thing a can do to fix this?

Ravnda,
Thanks for posting here - and for the detailed explaination.
Can you confirm what version of BIOS you war running on the system?
I think you are saying that if you have the system configured for Optimus that Lync crashes, but if you set the BIOS for either just discrete or just integrated, that the application works ok. Is this correct?
Also, assume you are running 64 Bit Windows 7, correct?
We can look into this on Monday at Lenovo, and may need some additional information to recreate and then trouble shoot this issue. In the mean time, others in the community may have some suggestions...
Best regards,
Mark

Mark_Lenovo,
BIOS version is: 8AET34WW (1.14)
That is correct, it also works if we uninstall the Nvidia drivers and just use Intel drivers.
Running Windows 7 Enterprise x64.
Thanks,
Stian

JameZ,
I don't remember exactly, but the machine type was T61 and T500 or T510.
OS was Windows 7 x64 and think SP1 was installed.
I'm not sure if the problem is you guys, it can be that Microsoft has to create a fix for Lync. We tried Communictor 2007 and that crashed as well. The same problem.

JameZ,
Yes, they work as they should. They can even see me at the webcam, but on T520 Lync is behaving like the picture I send.
One think I forgot to say:
Lync is only crashing when to other person is answering the video call.
