T520 and Docking station--assigning IP's

Hello,

I'm trying to assign a static IP to my T520 docking station and  have DHCP for the laptop.(Win 7 PRO)

I could do this on older T400 laptops(win XP) 

Is there a way to to configure both?

On the old system (T400's), it would list the docking station nic and the onboard laptop nic separately and assigning static/Dhcp was easy.

Isn't the ethernet port on the docking station just a passthrough to the network card built into the laptop?

Access Connections is not preinstalled on some machines. You might want to check if you have it, and install it if you don't.

I think Access Connections would allow you to create a different location profile for each of your situations. Then, you can set DHCP to one location profile and a static IP to the other location profile.
