Mornsgrans: Maybe I'll do it that way when I decide to make the plunge. I don't believe its going to resolve anything I've seen so far.
- BSOD the first time I plugged in an SD memory card after system came up from hibernate (It was suppose to be, the moon symbol was on) I'll have to check the config again but it did not say so maybe it was asleep only. Either way it should not do that. I only tried it once so far though.

Oh, I was on it for a while now but just upgraded to 1.38.

just a general "not broke, don't fix" policy or do you know of a spefic problem with the update?

I used Thinkvantage update process to and apply/install the BIOS updates both times. They indicate some items fixes. I wanted to see of the FAN speed table would change for cooling. I doubt they document all the changes anyway.

NOTE: If you call support for a problem. The first thing they do is check TVT and apply all outstanding updates INCLUDING BIOS releases. They'll even ask you if you've done that and remote in to verify and or do it!!!

So why not.

I know what he means but there are aspects of the system which can be better. There is definintely performance and cooling management as well as some other areas that I don't use that some people are having difficulty with. I will continue to apply the updates as they are release.

Ok, 1.39 was released and I have just updated via the Thinkvantage update Windows tool. Flashed verified correctly. They are not clear on really what they've changed. I went into the BIOS but did not see anything from the menus.

Anyway it was successful and rebooted without any issues.
