Hello, I just placed an order for the T530 but I was wondering: Should I have gotten the backlit keyboard option which was free?

It takes about a week for them to build the PC. Perhaps you can call and have that changed.

As a T530 owner for a few weeks I would say definitely yes, try and get that modified if you can. I have used the feature multiple times and it is really very handy.

Absolutely! I paid $30 extra to get the backlit keyboard and am very glad that I did. It's far better than the ThinkLight for working in dark environments. Besides, it looks cool.

I have always found the ThinkLight useful. However, I don't use it to look at the keys. Instead I use it to read paperwork without needing to have the room lights on. I also use it to alleviate eyestrain by increasing the overall brightness in the room. Even at minimum brightness, the screen is often too bright in a dark room. The ThinkLight helps to remove the tunnel issue of the only bright spot in an entire room.

I just got my Lenova T530 laptop. I notice the the keyboard does not light up. I ordered the leyboard backlit and wonder do i have to do something to get it to light up. I am not very computer savy. Also what is a Think light and how do you get that to work? I thought i started a new post. Jac
i think it's: hold the "Fn" key and tap the spacebar. multiple taps of the spacebar cycle through different intensity levels.
hth.

That's it although there are only 2 lighting levels plus ThinkLight, i.e.
no light -> dim keyboard light -> bright keyboard light -> ThinkLight -> no light ...
