I have the 128 GB Samsung MMCRE28G8MXP that came with my T410S. CystalDiskInfo (and googling) tells me that TRIM has not been implemented on the drive's firmware. I can see that CrystalDiskinfo correctly identifies TRIM on my Crucial and my intel SSD's.
Is there any information out from Lenovo or Samsung that TRIM will be implemented on this drive? Or maybe a tool to clean up the pages on disk?

I'm in precisely the same boat with my X301, with the exact same drive. My machine was manufactured 2010/03/25.
Googling around myself, I found the following facts:
If a drive doesn't have TRIM support, to wipe it one must use the secure erase facility, which wipes the whole drive. On Linux, this can be done from a rescue CD with
hdparm --security-erase [password] [device]
Obviously this is rather inconvenient, as it requires a complete backup + restore.
Samsung's firmware release was January, so you have to wonder what the holdup is for Lenovo ...

Hi,
You can use this tutorial http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread
to manually make "trim" to your drive without wiping all data.

outouser,
The software seems Windows-specific. If you are using NTFS, you might as well let the Samsung garbage collection do its job. (Do very old Lenovo SSDs not even have garbage collection?)
Also, I think it's rough on your drive to do so many writes on a weekly basis -- better to do it only when the drive gets slow, and this perception is verified by benchmark.

Bumping this thread because I just got my T410s.
Is Lenovo going to patch our drives?

Any word on TRIM support for SSDs yet?

Hello Lenovo
You claim to make exceptionally tough notebooks and good support for your produts, so please speak up to your word and please release a decent firmware upgrade supporting TRIM for your samsung based drives!
