Hey guys, I literally just got my T530 (arrived 8/21) and I could not be more happy with it. The new keyboard takes a little bit to get used to, but the impeccable thinkpad keyboard quality is definitely there. The fingerprint reader is a little bit finicky, but that was to be expected. The FHD screen is absolutely beautiful, even if text is a little small. I kind of wish that I had gotten a larger battery (9 cell instead of 6) when I ordered it.
Anyways, definitely worth the wait, but if I ever need a new lenovo laptop for a business critical setting, I would order it 2 months in advance.

Thinkpad t430 hopeful here!
I orignally ordered on 8/15, but had to have the order canceled and replaced on 8/16. Lenovo sales dept was very helpful with this... but now I'm being sent two laptop sleeves. Ah well, I'm a college student so I can probably convince someone at my school to pay $10 for a fourteen inch laptop case. Anyways, I have had issues of the ship date changing from 6/22 to 8/26 this morning. I have had good luck calling the phone line EARLY in the day (if you can call as soon as they open, you will have hardly any wait. Think about it, things always are on delay later in the day). I called customer service and they said it could be as late as 8/27, but I can expect it to ship earlier? I think I'm going to try and call US sales today after reading this WHOLE thread. I am now very nervous that I won't get my laptop in time for school (which is 2 weeks from now and I'm ordering because my old laptop is completely dead, I have no computer at the moment).
I just received an email telling me that both sleeves have shipped and the email says my laptop has been "released to manufacturing" and the order status page says "order received". If the laptop doesn't ship by 8/27 I may have to cancel the order because I cannot start the semester without a computer. Any advice would be awesome.

I ordered on the 12th and it shipped yesterday(or at least got a label created) with an estimated delivery date of the 24th. I guess we'll see on Friday, but a 2 week turnaround isn't horrible. Too bad for you guys that got stuck during the parts shortage though.

Ok, my hopes for a speedy delivery have been crushed. It's now almost 3 days since the label was created, 36 hours since UPS scanned it in, and there it sits in Shanghai. The estimated delivery date still stands at 24 August, COB, but this seems to be cutting things closely. I don't expect I'll get my machine this week.

This is my first Lenovo and I really wish I had read about the shipping delays sooner. All reports indicate that it is a great laptop and I ordered one for my son with an i7 processor and 180 ssd. Not only did the website indicate there was an approximate ship date of 8/19, but the order status link confirmed 8/20 after the order was placed. Each day, the ship date has changed on the order status with theship date now 8/22 (today and no update to show it shipped) and delivery date now estimating arrival the day he is to leave for school.
When I called Lenovo, I got a polite "it won't ship today, but I can check into it and get back to you tomorrow by the end of business". Sadly, getting back to me then will do little good. If it hasn't shipped by then, it won't be ready for school and other arrangements will have to be made. I found this was par for the course after discovering the comments in this community. Had I known sooner, Lenovo would not have been my pick.
I find it hard to understand that Lenovo does not know of its production delays and cannot provide information upon receipt of a call beyond checking the order status that is available online. More importantly, I cannot understand that it does not have information regarding its production delays so as to provide ACCURATE information of the ship date WHEN the computer is configured /ordered online. If there is a parts issue, they know the parts requested when the order is placed by the customer. I think misleading customers, when time frames are crucial, secures that the order is placed but does little for customer satisfaction and future customer loyalty. My son preferred sticking with a PC and it looked as if Lenovo was best in its class, but he may wind up with a MAC where we can walk into apple and pretty much leave with what we've configured the Lenovo. "Disappointing first encounter " is an understatement

I'm right behind you as far as cancelling goes.
My son would be better off with a cheaper "starter" and upgrade in a year, than the 1800.00 "discounted" model with 4 year service if he can't have it when he needs it. I have now checked my "order status" and it is showing a ship date of 8/26. It seems the same interval information goes out to all. 8/26 is a Sunday. and the estimated delivery of 9/03 is the Labor Day Holiday. UPS does not deliver on weekends or holidays. More than likely Lenovo's update is not a realistic communication; it's just another fabricated date to keep people on the hook. When it arrives home, it will then have to ship to school and he will have been about a month without a computer. He's been using a shared laptop throughout high school. Lenovo should be anticipate and handle back to school and holiday rushes professionally with an eye toward customer service.
Updates regarding cancellation would be appreciated.

I ordered nearly identical machine on the same date and have received the same dates as you. While not in the same time crunch, I'm going to try to remain optimistic.
Good luck and keep us posted.
