ThinkPad T series shipping thread - 2012 edition [ Edited ]

Delivery date for my T430s says 27th June 2012 even though the order was placed on 8th June 2012.

Any idea what is going on here? Will it come earlier?

When I ordered my T430 on the same day as you it said manufactured within 1-2 weeks and then shipping can take from 3-6 days.

Looks like they've took the 8th and then added 2 weeks and pretty much the maximum shipping.

Do you mind if I ask how you find your delivery date? I ordered without an account so check my order status via the link on the site and then provide my email address and last few digits of my credit card.

From there I can only see:

Order Number:
Order Date: 08/06/2012
Order Status: Order in Process

Billing Address:

Shipping Address:

and I have the option to view an invoice also.

Hopefully mine will be pretty much the same as yours (or earlier if they are saying a later time to cover their backs if need be).

I really hope so. I do not know how to find the delivery date when ordering with Lenovo.

My machine was ordered differently. However, I have been told many times that it takes max 14 days.

We shall see.

Ahh okay no worries, hopefully they'll be close. I've heard that Lenovo's order status goes from order is being processed straight to out for shipping so that's going to stay like that for a while.

I go on holiday a few days after so hopefully it will be there before then otherwise I'll have to try and kindly ask the courier to keep it at the depot and not send it all the way back to Lenovo. I can imagine that being a PITA!

Indeed, this is my first ThinkPad and a LOT of money for me to spend (I'm in college at the moment) so hopefully everything goes well. I've read some horror stories on here but I suppose you'd only come on the forums to moan about it so you can't really tell how often it happens.

We should have real time GPS on the van for the price

Planning to upgrade the hard drive with a Samsung SSD. Lenovo prices were a rip off for SSD's.

I ordered a T530 on 6/6. The estimated ship date was 6/12, but it just shipped today.

According to the tracking number on UPS, my estimated delivery date is 6/15.
