I have tried updating the driver several times. I am at the most recent version of the driver, 220.127.116.11, and it is still not present as an option. All I see is EAP-MSCHAPv2 and SmartCard or other certficate. I do not have any of the Intel ProSet or ThinkAdvantage apps to manage wireless. I tried to get rid of the vendor cruft. Was that a mistake?

you may have the wrong driver installed. Here is the one that looks correct for your PC. Intel Wireless WiMAX/WiFi 5150 and 5350 If you enter your Product Number HERE it should tell you what wireless device you have.

It's funny, but that was the obvious answer. I was searching around for an unrelated issue and realized I never thanked you or confirmed it was indeed the additional software, not the driver with a standard INF install, was what I had missed.
