Have a user with a new T520 and we want to turn on the Intel Virtualization Technology to improve performance of Microsoft's Virtual PC running a XP VM. The user and I were talking over the telephone and she said in the BIOS cpu settings list there was no entry for Intel Virtualization Technology. Where do we find the setting to enable the VT-x capability on the T520 in the BIOS? I can't find any online document that shows the BIOS screens for the T520.
thanks

Look in the Security menu.
Security -> Virtualization

I'll ask the user to check that out. Thanks for the info. Are the BIOS screens documented somewhere online?

I don't think the BIOS F1 menu setup screens are documented anywhere. The screens contain self-help to explain what each setting does. If you are looking for a particular setting then it's usually just a matter of looking around or else posting here for help.
If you want to change BIOS settings from within Windows using WMI scripts, that is documented in the following guide:

Thanks for the reference. Are the components cscript.exe and SetConfig.vbs a standard part of Windows 7 or is there a package I have to download and install? If not part of Win7, where would I find the Windows Mangement Instrumentation pieces? The document doesn't say as far as I can read; may be overlooking something.

cscript.exe is built into windows. The vbs scripts are provided by Lenovo in the zip file on that website.
EDIT: just noticed I didn't provide the link to the website:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.p
the sample scripts are downloadable there.

That web page does mention a ZIP file as part of a download but doesn't offer a download link anywhere I can see.
Can you help again with a page that actually lets me download the item that includes the zipped files?
thanks for the hand holding.

Not your fault, I think the support website is having difficulties today.
Here is a direct link to the zip file that contains the sample scripts for changing BIOS settings by WMI:
