WXGA+ B/L LED delays

Aloha:

Is the WXGA+ backlit LED still available for T400 CTO's? No longer is this option available via web configuration. I ordered this screen on 2/10 for ship date 2/20. I was delayed to 3/24 on the Online Order Status page. In a phone call to 42-THINK on 2/26 was told ship date of 3/9, and today, to follow up, was told of a ship date of 3/12.

Is this screen still available? If not, what would become of all the orders placed, such as those folks over on the "New and improved T-series shipping thread"?

I share the same concerns you have.

I would also like to know how to diferenciate an LED screen from a non LED? Is there a way to know what part my T400 has installed? I know that the parts are listed in the box and in my order, but is there a physical way to distinguish one screen form the other?

The WXGA+ BLLED screen for T400's is a discontinued item. For the time being. Which, and I just found this out today, leaves me out of the loop if trying to pursue a price match from Lenovo.

For example, say I order a T400-2764CTO on 2/10/09 with an est ship date of 2/20. Somewhere along the way Lenovo experiences a shortage on the WXGA+ B/LLED screen, delaying my order (until 3/24), and soon afterward decides to drop the option, discontinuing the item. Let's say eventually six weeks after ordering I find a better deal and want to initiate a price match from Lenovo. There is no possible way that I can do that if I cannot create the price quote if the component is no longer available. Does that sound about right? Wow...

Does anyone think the reason they have discontinued the LED option is because of the complaints regarding the Samsung display? This forum hasn't seen too many posts about it, but over at Notebookreview.com there were a ton of complaints and quite a bit of users who had support switch out their Samsung display for the LG display. Kind of makes me wonder...

I for one am glad to have the LG LED display in my T400 and am gonna hang onto it like a possessed child if they don't bring back LED
