Check out our new video featuring a parachute equipped T420 plummeting to the earth...
Can it boot up and save itself in time?

Be sure to check out the behind the scenes making of the video.
I just thought we could take a quick break from the issues and have a bit of fun - this seemed pretty cool to me !
Do you think this is one of our best feature demonstration ideas? What has been your favorite one?

My all time favourite is where the guy just throws the laptop on the floor; simple, and to the point .
The next up is the "strip poker" vid.

As a shock and awe or eye catching marketing it is a 10/10. But as as an anecdote to everyday usage of thinkpad maybe 2/10.
But i guess all work and no play make 'Thinkpad' a dull 'laptop'.
Lenovo seems to be ramping up their marketing campaign and their marketing budget.
Would be nice to see a Thinkpad in zero gravity situation, like in the Shuttle or in the Space Station.
P.S. I am surprised that Lenovo didn't feature the X1 in this jump, after all that is new halo product.

Epic!
The other one didn't look THAT bad... considering it hit the ground at probably terminal velocity. XD

I dont think crazy commercials make me want to buy a product any more since it really has nothing to do with how I would use it. Kinda just makes me wish the money was spent on making the product better..

I had a look at the promotion site, it is actually a T420s that was featured in the parachute video and not a T420.

I enjoyed watching this. I like the various Thinkpad videos that are out there. I know I was a big fan of the T400s tornado chasing video from a few years ago. I really liked the behind the scenes video on this rapid boot one. It might have been nice to know the configuration of the machine in question here -- I assume at a 10 second bood time it has an SSD.
I would like to see a video featuring the excellent keyboard.

Why is it my T420s doesn't boot in 10 seconds? In fact, it more like 40. That's with the Lenovo factory image and 160GB SSD.
Good thing the machine in the video isn't doing a restart with an Intel Series 510 drive. The parachute would not open in time. ![]()
