Considering a T520. What resolution do you prefer for the 15" monitors? I've been to stores and it seems like all they have are laptops with the 1366x768 displays, so I don't know if 1600x900 will be difficult to read. I'm middle aged and a little concerned about getting print that is too small. Not being able to see them makes this a hard decision. I'm assuming the full HD display is going to be too small, but I have nothing to base that on. I mainly use my computer for reading on the internet, not so much for things like movies.

You can just boost the DPI of the fonts on the screen so everything looks bigger. It's worked for a family member who can't see very well on a 1920 x 1080 screen (it's 22 inches).
Also, things will still look clearer on a higher-resolution screen than they will on a lower one, just because there are more pixels.
So you have more fine-grained control over the DPI (it will look better) and you can make things bigger and they'll still look decent.
Also, I'd suggest going to a store that has 1600 x 900 or 1920 x 1080 screens on their laptops.
They're probably the 1500-dollar ones since anything lower than that usually has a 1366 x 768 screen on it- but they should carry some of them. Or, try and find a monitor that has those resolutions and see how things look (find the smallest one they have for best results).
