Which Antenna do I need for T510i with Gobi 2000 option

Hello everybody,

I have 2 T510i 4314-7uG laying here, witch are not UMTS Ready!

I bought the Gobi 2000 Option Card for these Notebooks.

But when I stalled the Cards there was the big "oh **bleep** Moment"

There are no Antennas for the Card installed.

On the Lenovo Site I found out 3 Part Numbers for Antennas.

45M2897 Antenna E

45M2898 Antenna W

45M2899 Antenna A

But witch Antenna do I need?

The Notebook has Bluetooth & Wlan.

And the most irritating thing is, that there are Cables that goes from the SIM Card Slot up into des Display frame... very strange!

Do those cables go to the antenna that is integrated into the top of the display?

What do you mean with top of the display?

I havent demontaged the display. I don't knwo where they ends. I just know that they disappear in the display frame.

Hardware Maintenance Manual

On page 136 in the Hardware Maintenance Manual  is a listing of the antenna wire (cable) colors. Are your cables the same color?

If they are, then you have the antenna built into the display.

Thank You for the maintanence manual.

The Cables for WWAN should have the Colores orange and blue. And there are no blue or orange cables. I definitifly doesn't have  the antenna. There are only the white, gray and black cables for the wlan antenna.

So the question still is the same. Which FRU number is the right for the UMTS WWAN antenna?
