Which drivers to use?

I just got my new Thinkpad T510 w/ dedicated GPU in the mail yesterday.  I noticed that the lenovo update brings the video drivers up to a version that isn't up-to-date.  Is it better to update my video drivers through Nvidia and get the latest drivers, or to use Lenovo's built in updater which uses an out-of-date video driver?

I'd say use the Lenovo drivers. Your model likely has the NVIDIA Optimus option, for which Lenovo has their own implementation.

As long as the Lenovo drivers don't present any issues, then they should work fine.
