Before I upgraded my T400 6475 FM4 to Windows 7 I checked the Lenovo website to see if there were any warnings. I ran the compatibility check as advised, and I took all the recommended steps before I started the upgrade.
It took several hours to locate and install all the required drivers, but eventually my machine was working again, faster than with Vista.
I now have the following problems with Lenovo programs or Lenovo supplied hardware, and would be glad to hear of any way to resolve them.
1 Fingerprint sensor/Client Security Solution:
I have successfully registered fingerprints for 10 fingers/thumbs.
Fingerprint sensor does not respond after reboot, but does respond after hibernate.
When I enter a password for a website I get "Password manager is requesting authentication". Then when I show my fingerprint I get "The requested operation requires fingerprint authentication, but you have no fingerprints enrolled. Please enrol fingerprints and retry the operation." I click OK, and it carries on working OK anyway (without having confirmed that my fingerprint has been authenticated).
Client Security Solution also asks me to verify my identity, either to enable fingerprint auhorisation or because my Windows password has been changed recently. When I enter it I am told "Authentication failed", and I am asked to Retry or Cancel. Retry does not work. After Cancel it continues OK anyway (without having validated).
When I am invited to configure Windows password recovery, I cannot do so as I cannot get past the indentity verification (as above).
2 Rescue and Recovery:
PC Doctor says that I have not backed up my data for 33 days. When I try to do so the program hangs on 0%, and I cannot quit the program without ending the process using Task Manager.
3 Mobile Broadband:
PC Doctor tells me that my Ericsson F3507g Mobile Broadband Minicard is not working, but when I try to re-install the driver I am told that the latest driver is already installed.
PC Doctor says that Lenovo Mobile Broadband is not working. When I try to configure it I get CLR error 8004005 and the program terminates.
