XP Downgrade 64-bit?

With new T400, I ordered Vista Business 64-bit and the XP Downgrade.

It turned out the XP downgrade is 32-bit. Does anyone know if it is possible to get it in 64-bit?

No.

Lenovo doesn't support the 64-bit version of XP.

Re: XP Downgrade 64-bit?

I asked the tech service for exactly that and they told me they didn't have any 64 bit disc images.

That doesn't mean you can't install it though, look around, there are a couple ways to do it, your license should allow you to install it.

My T500 has windows xp 64 installed on it and it's a lot better than the 32 bit version for me.

Keep in mind that since Lenovo doesn't support xp64, they also don't distribute drivers and it can get very frustrating to look for those....

I got almost everything to work as it should on my T500, here is what I had to do:

- Added Intel's SATA ICH9-M drivers to my windows xp 64 cd with nLite prior to install ( you will get a BSOD if you don't do that).

- ATI mobility HD3650: used driver heaven's ati mobility modder to install official ATI drivers

- Itunes 64 bit is "Vista only", found itunes-for-xp-64-bit.com which has a working solution ( for me).

Now the only thing that doesn't work is the audio, the only drivers I could get to work is the Venice driver from hp ( google sp35271.exe), it works for audio output for the microphone doesn't work....

Anyways, I'm not reverting to xp 32 bit or Vista, I'm keeping xp 64 until I can get windows 7.
