dell 2007FP vs HP zr22w [ Edited ]

Hi guys,  I'm using t410s right now. Want to find a IPS monitor. Currently have two choices.

Dell 2007FP (Refurbished 30Day Warranty) $95

HP zr22w (New, 3 year warranty) $175

Which one would be a good choice?

Not for game.

But need good color, good text, word process, sometime watch movie.

The HP zr22w has DP, is it better than VGA to connect to my T410s?

2007FP or 2007WFP with IPS is better (there are PVA version too) so you need to check the serial number of the Dell monitor. The HP one is okay, but they are not as good as the Dell's versoin.

For Dell 2007FP and 2007WFP (latter is the widescreen version) Serial Number ending with "L" = S-IPS panel. Serial Number ending with "S" = S-PVA panel.

Get a DP to DVI converter (which should cost around 10 dollars on ebay) and use that on the Dell monitor.

You can also connect Dell to composite video and use it as a TV (if you don't already have LCD tv).

ok... but the Dell monitors are better than the HP ZR22W, we had one of the latter in the office before. The only HP IPS monitor i would get is their 30 inch model. Even their HP LP2065 was a shocker in quality, which i have.

If you got any other IPS screen question related to the Dell and HP please do ask, since i have used most of them.
