7200 rpm 500gb Hard Drive for T61p

I've been running this one in my T400 for some time.  It's cool, quiet, vibration free, and fast.  YMMV.

Hi

I have short-listed this drive for a T61 that I want to run as close to silent as possibe. I have an earlier Western Digital model that runs at 5400 rpm and achieves this for me.

I have hesitated from ordering the model you linked just yet as some of the Amazon reviews I have read say that the drive is noisy. Might these be rare examples ? Are all 7200rpm drives louder than 5400rpms ?

I'd like the speed of a 7200rpm but not if I sacrifice being able to use the machine for spoken-word audio recording (with no interfering computer noise).
