The battery meter that was directly to the left of the toolbar on the bottom right has all of the sudden dissapeared...any ideas how I can get it to show up again? It was the meter that showed the percentage of battery power remaining (i.e. 96%)
Thanks in advance...

swf83,
Check to make sure that you still have ThinkVantage Power Manager still installed. Look in either Start --> Programs --> ThinkVantage, or go to Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs and see if it's still there.
If for some reason it got unintentionally uninstalled, then just reinstall it.
If it's still installed, then launch it by going to Start --> Programs --> ThinkVantage --> Power Manager
or
by hitting the Fn+F3 keys and selecting Manage Settings
On the Power Manager window, click on Options and verify that the option that says "Show Power Manager Gauge in task bar" is selected.
If it was already checked and the Power Manager gauge still doesn't show up, try un-checking then re-checking that box.
If all else fails, try uninstalling then reinstalling Power Manager.
