Please help.
There is an unconfigured program seeking update continously in my laptop. It is attempting to connect to www.updateservice.sonic.com continously as detected in the web activity log of my router. I do not have any program sonic with the exeption of Roxio, which is already configured to seek update only once a month. Not sure if this could be related to the ThinkVantage update program, but even if it is so, I belive need configuration. Yet I can find were to do so.
Assistance will be appreciated.
Cheers.

Welcome in the forum!
There still seems to be some sonic/Roxio related update task running on your system, which causes those problems. When searching on the internet via Google etc. you can find some pointers to running "Sonic Update Manager" and "Sonic Activation Module" etc. services. - AFAIK sonic software uses Macrovisions FLEXnet Connect software (it's often used via InstallShields) together with their software installation, so you might want to check, if the Macrovision Software Manager can possibly disable those automatic update checkings for you. See therefor:

Another possibility would be to use a software cleaner like EasyCleaner...
--> http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/files/EC lea2_0.exe
...in order to delete that sonic update service ..or.. try "msconfic" from the systemstart promt and remove the check next to "isuspm" and restart the computer.
Hope that some of the above will help you to solve the problem.

Thanks for the very promt and helpfull reply.
I manage with you information, to find the program, and properly configure it to seek update once a month rather than every minute. This is more reasonable now.
I have another issue but probably should post anew, avoiding taking advantage on your kindness.
Thanks again
