Corrupt Files CHKDSK does not run.

My file system is corrupt, but chkdsk will not run!

I have run chkdsk in read-only mode and it finds errors.

Then I run it in repair mode and it says (correctly) that the drive is in use and it must run on the next bootup.

The problem is that CHKDSK does not run on the next bootup.

This would appear to be a conflict with the ThinkVantage software during the boot process.

I have a T61 model 7662-CTO.

I would probably run a hard drive test first and make sure the drive is not failing. Press the Thinkvantage button at startup and choose diagnostics.

If everything else fails and you are willing to lose everything in your hard drive. THere is a solution. Go to http://www.hgst.com/hdd/support/download.htm
and download the Fitness Tools. Use that ISO file to burn a CD, which is bootable automatically. Then you can use a tool called erase disk in side to erase everything in your hard drive. Including the Hidden Partition.

WARNING: IT WILL ERASE EVERYTHING EVERYTHING!!!

After that you will need to reinstall OS and all the drivers, there are numerous clean install guides out on the net.
