Docked shutdown turns into stand by

When this computer is docked (T61P 6459CTO on WinXp) it seldom makes it. It goes into stand by after most of the normal time it would take to shutdown. If I keep hitting the dock power button, it ends up completing the shutdown. It started a few weeks ago, but no specific relation to other updates that I can figure.

 

Anyone else ever see this??
