HDD lenght of password ? ! ?. IBM ThinkPad

Hi,

Did you have a problem at any time with the HDD lenght password?

I remember my HDD password but problem concern lenght of it.

I have 14 characters password but when I want to change it in BIOS environment I can not, why? Because BIOS allow MAX 12 characters password.

I suppose that BIOS was changed after an upgrade?

Maybe I have set my 14 Characters password from other software ThinkVantage? I do not remember?

pajekow, welcome to the forum,

If I remember correctly the "Passphrase" function in security is disabled as BIOS default on the T42; this allows the use of longer passwords. It may be that you had enabled it to enter your password, but a BIOS update has returned the setting to default ??

It was exactly. I have musted change the default value for the "Passphrase".

Where I can change it again? I checked BIOS parameters and "Passphrase" in security section is disable and inactive for modify...
