How to know that T41 has which wireless card?

How we confirm that my T41 has the which wireless radio card? because When I install both  "Intel (R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter" or

2100 3A,

Both works , but the problem is same with using TP-LINK (TL-WA501G) Access Point,

that wireless radio on and off after few seconds repeatedly.

My other Dell laptop works without any problem , but other way round my T41 is connecting and after few seconds disconnects.

Re: How to know that T41 has which wireless card?

Assuming that the website is working properly today (seems to have been having problems lately), you can do a parts lookup of your system with it's serial number and model here...

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/partsLookup.page

That's assuming that no one has changed any of the hardware of course.

You can also try connecting with ethernet and uninstall the drivers then run system update. Hopefully it will identify and install only the correct driver.

Re: How to know that T41 has which wireless card?

[ Edited ]

Since many T40 and T41's came with "wireless upgradable" a lot of them got a wireless card attached later.

In the device manager double-click the wireless lan device and select the "Details" tab.

under "Device instance ID" you will find an entry like "PCI\VEN_xxxx&DEV_yyyy..."

Input the digits under "yyyy" in the upper right input field on www.pcidatabase.com

The serach result shows all devices with that Device-ID. Compare your Vendor-ID ("xxxx") with the vendor - ID in the result list.

Additional hints:

  • alwas install the Lenovo/IBM dirvers as described in the readme resp. as on the download page described.
  • remove the wrong drivers as described in the readme/on the download page. A lot of drivers can be removed with "Controlpanel" - "Add or remove software"
