I want to get rid of a pass.
For long time, I thought it is the supervisor pwd but now after being able to disable it, I am sure it is not supervisor pwd.
It should be another pwd and I am not sure what it is. It shows up after power on and its icon is like a cylinder with number one on top of it and a lock on the right. I don't think it is Power On Password (POP) as POP has a key in BIOS and its icon is like two squares inside each other.
Maybe it is Master Password. Do we have such a thing in Lenovo T60 and if yes, is there a way to remove it?

You can disable any of the passwords in the bios "security" section. It will ask you to enter current password, then new password. Leave the "new" password field blank and your computer won't have any.

Dear TuuS
Thanks for your reply. But it doesn't ask for present pwd. It has two boxes. First one to enter the new pwd and 2nd one to confirm it.

richk answered your question, it's a harddisc password. There should be an option to disable this option in your bios, if you don't have the harddisc password, you'll need to replace the drive.

In BIOS unter Security - Password:
Set "Password reset service to enabled -press F10 - yes and reboot into BIOS
Now you can disable the HDD master AND user passwords by changing the current password to empty passwords
