My T61 died because of the Video Chip NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M

I have been using my T61 for 3 years. One morning, when I turned on the laptop, nothing appaered. The screen was black.  I checked the laptop and found down that the Video Chip was broken. The only way to fix it is to replace the motherboard, but it is really expensive.

I bought the laptop when I studied in Germany from US eBay. Now, I'm living in Hochiminh City, Vietnam. Mark can you help me?

my friend has the same problem. other threads on here show that the problem may be out of warranty, but the service center might help.

anybody have any luck with fixing the problem themselves, or having lenovo do it for not too much money?
