PresentationDirector T43/T60 bluescreen

Hello,

 

since 1 week we do have some serios problems with the presentation director with XP on different Thinkpads T43,T60(looks like they all have this problem?)

 

So short description:

 

If i boot i got my Profil (including TFT...) , but if want to take my laptop from the dockingstation and switch so that Profile in Normal Mode i get a blue screen with error win32k.sys system will shut down ...

 

That is also if i am not on the dockingstation and switch to another profile, same error blue screen win32k.sys

 

Yes i do have reinstalled the drivers for Graficcard,Hotkey and PresentationDirector.

 

I guess its occurred by an Windows Update that doesnt work with the presentationdirector.

 

Do have heard anythin in the community or do u know that problem as well?

Having the same problems with our T61's.  I'm trying to find which Windows Update is the culprit.  Anybody know yet?  It looks like it is one of these 3:

 

KB933579, KB954211, KB958644

It seems to be a combination of KB954211 and KB958644.  I tried to remove KB954211 through add/remove programs in safe mode, but it said it also had to unisntall KB958644.  I uninstalled both windows updates and it fixed the problem.

We had exactly the same problems with several laptops on our network. The easiest way for us was to install SP3 for Windows XP. That solved the problem on all computers.

MS patch KB954211 is the one causing this issue.  Install MS patch KB959252 and that should fix it.
