i had stumble upon this solution by accident, when i was trying to get my T40 to output in wideaspect ratio on the desktop monitor. When this person asked about this problem, i remembered there was a solution posted at Thinkwiki.org, so i offered the thread poster this url link hoping it might solve his problem.
