I want to change my Thinkpad T61's keyboard to dvorak-classic. Can I buy a new keyboard that is dvorak-classic ? Or is it possible to rearrange the keys without problems in T61 ? I don't bother about the num lock feature. Please suggest.
Thanks.

You can buy stickers for the keys pretty cheap. That's probably the easiest way to convert to a different format. One problem with swapping keys is they aren't all identical. The three surrounding the trackpoint are unique, so moving your keycaps around isn't going to be a perfect solution.

I don't want stickers.
Does it mean that if I remove a key and try to inoert in another place, it won't go in, as the base of all the keys are not identical ?

Solution: buy a keyoard
ps. in addition to the trackpoint keys, the index keys "F" and "J" are slightly different too. Since you don't want a less then perfect solution, then your back to buying a new keyboard.

Is there a DVORAK keyboard available for T61 for replacing the current one ?

Hello,
As far as I can tell, the T61 keyboard was never manufactured in a DVORAK layout, so your best bet is likely to use stickers to overlay the QWERTY layout.

I have decided to use stickers only for the keys near the track and rearrange the rest of the keys.
