Recovery Media

When my T61p arrived the DVD burner died while I was creating recovery media. Now when I connect an external burner it says that I have already created the media. Is there a way to create the media?

Re: Recovery Media

You can still recover your TP through pressing the Think Vantage button, however I don't believe it will offer the option to create recovery media again.
In your position I would, when calling Lenovo about the dead dvd drive, tell them what happened and ask them to send you a set.

Re: Recovery Media

In the past you could recover using the blue button and you could make a recovery set again. I'm not sure if this has changed in the newer versions of R&R.

Re: Recovery Media

Yes I am going to be contacting Lenovo about recovery media.

No once they are created they can't be created again from what I can see.

Re: Recovery Media

If you reinstall your computer from the service partition (recover my system) you will be able to write the recovery media again, from the finished installation. Note: Danger of data loss with reinstallation.

Re: Recovery Media

I called Lenovo and explained the situation, they are sending a set of recovery disks by courier. Full marks for Lenovo Australia, excellent support.
