Replaced hard drive now error

Hi all,

I replaced hard drive in my t61 series w wdscorpio sata320

gb, when i try and boot up i get this "initializing link, media test failure check  cable; excluded from boot order ATA HDD2, ATAPI CD1? what does this mean?

you need to install the OS on the hdd.

thank you for answering, what does that entail? i thought i had decent knowledge of computers but this one has me stumped.

that means there is no OS (operating system) detected on the hdd. So you just need to install the Operating System.
