I loaded in the Lenovo product that was brought to me by Lenovo....Simple Tap.
However, it loaded...and then crashed the system in what appears to be a small conflict with a CAD program that I run many hours a day.
I'm sure Lenovo wouldn't reccomend that I download & install a product that doesn't work with the obvious system that I have used for a few years. At this time, the installed product brings up the SimpleTap pages and large icons...but, the screen touch is not there for anything.
Did lenovo make an error in their suggestion that I install this new product for touch screen assets on a semi-elderly T61p thinkpad that doesn't recognize the touch screen actions. There's not a lot of detail for troubleshooting or a help manual to check on any issues. There's even less information in Community for stepping through any set-up for this age of laptop.
Thanks!

Some more information would be helpful, I have no idea what program you're referring to

Thanks for the reply.
Simple Tap seemed like a good idea that arrived via Lenovo to my message board yesterday and further described as:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.p
It installed fine, but it's mouse driven...not the "screen tap-app" as I had hoped. It did crash on the first issue, however the auto-update post reboot sent along the latest version. However...it's still inoperative as touch screen.
It is a puzzlement<G
Thanks again for the reply and any thoughts on this topic du jour.

Well....it didn't take long, but after scanning through a few pages....apparently the T61P isn't one of the models that Simple Tap was designed to accomodate.
Fooled again by the Lenovo message center. We're done here.

I was wondering why I hadn't heard of it.
Don't feel bad though, it looks like it was just a news announement, not a message for your system specifically. This program is only for certain touch-screen laptops/tablets, definitely not for any of the T series.
