Lenovo community - I need some help here - It's just been too long since I used XP. Will someone please rescue me and tell this needing soul how to get a command prompt under XP!

boot into your rescue and recovery console, press the blue Thinkvantage button during the initial startup, in the menu activate the Hardware diagnostic, which should boot into the PC Doctor environment, run the hdd test from there. This is more accurate than the the chkdsk software provided by MS OS.

lead_org - this is a good plan, but the "chkdsk" procedure should be run. Can you help with the XP procedure to get to a command prompt?
