I have a T22 that works fine except the screen is VERY dim and can hardly be seen. It shows a very faint picture.
Any ideas as to what may be the problem? I found some post mentioning a bad "inverter".
I have an external LCD monitor connected and works fine. Hate to get rid of it - been a very good "soldier" for me.
Thanks very much

Has your screen been reddish/pinkish on initial boot or when running on battery prior to this last episode? If so, the backlight in your LCD is gone and needs to be replaced.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I didn't notice this happening. I mostly used this as a desktop machine. When I went to use it
on a trip for work I could ony see a faint image on my screen. Does the absence of the reddish/
pinkish hue rule out the backlight? My first repair option was to buy an inverter on ebay and try that.
How much is a backlight cost? Any ideas?

I still wouldn't rule out the backlight, given the age of the machine...
You can replace the inverter, easy and cheap.
Backlights can be found for $20 or so, but replacing one is a pain...and shouldn't be attempted unless you're very handy.
Good luck.
