T41 Wireless card, no signal strength

I have a T41 (2374-K61) that I  had to use the recovery pack on ((Unmountable Boot Volume error and BSOD). I then went on to the Lenovo site and downloaded, what I believe, were the latest drivers. The system (Under My Computer Properties) shows that the card is recognised ( intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B)  I have also loaded Lenovo Access connections and am using this. The Wired LAN works well but when I try to find Wireless network (The router is less than 1.0 metre away) it does not see anything. I also cannot renew the IP adress of the adapter, anyone any isdea where I  go from here ?

Thanks for the pointer, I downloaded the System Update tool, version 3.14 and tried to download all of the latest updates, unfortunately the Ultranav program and drivers do not seem to download. I left the maching running for 15 hours and it hung at 92% download. I am going to uninstall the update too; and them retry but I am still having the same wireless problem, anyone any further ideas ?

download ccleaner.com its free run it a few times to clean up the registry then try system update again
