T41 device problem after recovery

Hi All,

I got a new Lenovo laptop from my company and I made XP recovery installation for my old T41 2373-4FG laptop. My aim was to make from my old T41 web access laptop for my wife for home use. First I made system recovery for my old T41 and after it I update XP service pack up to 3 and I made driver updates with Lenovo system update tool. Most of updates work but not all. My problem is still with Wlan device and USB devises. If I activate (switch enable)  device for Intel PRO/WirelessLAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter it will crash computer. Also USB devises have a problems to start working.

When I try to install Wlan driver error messages give information that plug and play process still ongoing and I must finish that before my new plug and play request is handled. I check process from task manager that there was no .pnp process ongoing. I guess there is some king of ghost plug and play process ongoing but I don't have a ideas how to proceed. Do you have any hints how I can solve this?

Re: T41 device problem after recovery

Hi and welcome to the forum!

If all lenovo and Windows updates have been applied, then the USB issue could be due to failing southbridge controller on the system board:- http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_USB_2.0

Doesn't sound good, sorry!
