If you use an oem windows install disc, you can use your existing key, I've done it often.

Does that apply to:
1) any OEM Windows XP CD;
2) only to Lenovo/IBM Windows XP CDs;
3) only to T43 recovery CDs?

it must be the same version of windows and cannot be a retail or upgrade disc, otherwise any oem should work.

Recovery media doesn't require a serial number to work.

if you use a ssd, check to see if ti has garbage colection built into the firmware fo rntfs file system

there are quite a few for it and it is essentially a lesser version of trim - allowing you to run xp wihtout any worries

can someone point me to a guide where is explained how to install a 60gb  ssd ( on a t43p )?

and which ssd to choose , what issues i may get .. and on ..
