I have a fading LCD display that I need to replace. How can I determine model/serial number of my existing screen? Thanks.

Disassemble lcd panel is the only sure way I know.
The Hardware Maintenance Manual lists these as used
for 1953 D7x: (page198)
(Brand FRU # )
Samsung 13N7065
LG-Phillips 13N7067
LG-Phillips 13N7090
CMO 13N7069
There may be software out there for detecting brand/model also?

get the HWinfor32 it will tell you the model number of your LCD. Or alternatively use the parts list (this will tell you the actual FRU number of the LCD, unless you swapped out the LCD before).

the thinkwiki link will tell you about the make, response time, nits, etc, about the LCD in relation to the FRU number.

Thanks lead.org. I have the serial number now, due to your suggestions and will move to obtain the new LCD.
