I have a T60 6371-6NU 15.4" widscreen display running on Intel 950GMA.
Up until 2 weeks ago when I updated the system on the new Lenovo Update site, the display ran natively in 1280x800 and would drop back when the lid was closed like other people have seen.
My problem is that I am unable to get the display running at 1280x800 anymore. It is stuck in 1024x768 full screen, which cause the display to wrap around at the bottom and leave 2 inches of blank LCD on the right side.
After trying everything suggested with no change, I loaded Win 7-64 as it is very good at sorting out drivers on its own. Unfortunately it was just as confused as the native XP Pro.
So here I am stuck without a useable machine and getting even more desperate, so I pose several questions as follows:
Any help would be appreciated.

After suitable research, I have discovered that the 4.31 monitor driver is fubar and no longer contains the monitor files for a 1280x800 lcd with discrete 950GMA, seams the widescreen monitor and regular monitor files are in fact the same ;p
There are probably others missing like more legacy widescreen monitor drivers.
Lenovo doesn't keep earlier versions around apparently so I'm on the hunt for 3.00 the pre-vista version.

Still searching for solution. Windows XP Pro recover disc set in transit so that the machine can be returned to original factory condition.
Further investigions reveal that the TPLCD monitor file does contain the 1280x800 file but does not offer it as available. Forcing the upgrade for the monitor to list 'all resolutions' allows installation of the correct monitor file which results in a 1280x800 virtual display confined within the default 1024x768.
This points to the display driver as the next logical culprit. As with other drivers, Lenovo does not have previous versions available on the website, only previous bios images are available.
One step at a time....

Windows XP Recovery CDs used to restore system to original state.
BIOS returned to pre manufacture date.
No change in behaviour.
Need version numbers for BIOS and drivers from a working T60 with 15.4" XWGA 1280x800 display.
