Remove the keyboard.
Clean out the fan with compressed air, but hold the blades with a toothpick or a thin screwdriver to prevent them from moving.
What's the 7-character model number of that T60?

Some more info would be helpful too, your post is very vague, so we have no idea if your system now works normally, and you just want to know why it once suddenly and randomly shut down, or if it's completely dead, and if dead, what does happen when you try to start it.
Everything you know about the computer and the problem needs to be in your post if you want any of us to understand the problem and be of any help, but if it was just a one time random shutdown and it seems to work fine now, then I'd suspect you overheated it.
