T60p Driver Problem - Win XP Downgrade

Just downgraded to XP from Vista on my T60p (8743CTO). XP installs fine, but now I am missing the drivers for all my networking hardware so I am unable to get online to use System Update to reinstall everything else. In the Device Manager, Ethernet and Network Controllers are listed as unknown. I tried downloading all the availiable drivers from the Lenovo page, but none seem to fix the problem. What do I do?
Thanks.

Re: T60p Driver Problem - Win XP Downgrade

Was this a "clean install" or did you use Lenovo's Rescue&Recovery downgrade disk set to install XP?

Either way, the most important part is to get the LAN (wired) working, then install System Update and let it do the rest for you (you will need Microsoft's .NET 2.0 for System Update to work!).

Right, so download the LAN drivers for the T60p from Lenovo --> here
Notice the "installation instructions" at the bottom of the page, follow the steps carefully, and you'll have a fully working wired connection. Keep in mind that the package will only decompress into a different folder on your C:\ drive, so the LAN drivers will not just install on their own. There's an extra step involved. The installation instructions on that page explain it all.

Next, download and install Microsoft's .NET Framework 2.0 from --> here
- Remember, without this, System Update will not work

Next, final step, download and install Lenovo's System Update found --> here
After installing that, you should be set. Start System Update and it will install the other drivers for your machine.

Hope this helps!
