My lenovo t6 gives my a black screen randomly when im on battery.
It happens when Im not using the computer for a couple of minutes. I have set in the power manager that the screen never should shut down.
When it does get black I cant run the screen to an external monitor (no signal). The lights for hard drive, battery, bluetooth, (N sign), wireless are all lit up.
When i turn of the wireless button on the front the bluetooth light goes off but the wireless lan keeps FLashing.
I recently formated the laptop. could there be some drivers missing that give this error.
Please advice, Every time this happens I have to press the on/off button to restart.
Lenovo T61 - 7665, Windows 7 32Bit

It might have something to do with hibernation.
When Im trying to put the computer into hibernation presseing fn+f12 the computer just shows me a black screen and the wlan, bluetooth, hardrive, power, battery lights are turned on.
Only way I found to get out of it is to press the on/off until shutdown.
PLEASE, have someone else had this problem?

I just docked the computer for the first time since I formatted the computer.
After 15min the screen went black, propably because the laptop (t61) wanted to go into sleep mode or hibernate which doesnt work apparently.
I have installed all the updates out there i think.

Try turning off all system timers in power options. You may have a minor software problem where your power management isn't working properly, or you could have a serious hardware problem, so lets disable the times, if the problem stops presenting, then it's just a matter of getting your drivers and power manager working, if there is no effect, then you may have a problem that's more serious.
ps. What is the four digit date code after the serial number. It will start with the year "08" followed by the month.

Why did you replace the heatsink???
1st> do a bios update
2> then graphic driver update.
3> then re-install power manger or disable by having it do nothing at all.
4> How do you know that machine is on and lcd not working...

do a bios update
This is just my opinion and no disrespect intended towards the member who is clearly trying to help, but if your system is unstable, which I do suspect, and it shuts down or crashes in the middle of a bios update, then your system board could become completely useless. Your bios isn't likely to suddenly cause a problem like this and this computer obviously worked for several years with this bios, so I see no reason to update it and a lot of risk if you do.
