Hello -
Thank you all for this fantastic resource!
My '08 T61 is having issues:
Keyboard – loss of key functionality during Windows operation (but fine during BIOS access and startup)
Rescue & Recovery 4 diagnostics – all PASS except: CPU Multicore (Misconfigured), SMBIOS Standards (Failed)
but then....
BIOS – system defaults restored, then main hard disk drive diagnostics, all PASS.
What next step should I take? It is a well-cared for machine and I'm a moderately (tho not close to some of you) skilled with computer repair.
Thanks many times -
David

Anyone?

We're running Windows XP Professional, and can't use the keyboard so I can't run that particular diagnostic.
While I look for the Windows install CD (which has got to be somewhere!), is there a way I can download the OS without it?
Thanks again -

Oh okay, thanks. How do I access the DOS mode - and will I need the keyboard for it? Only the mousepad/associated buttons work right now....I've run the BIOS diagnostic test, but passed it.

so the keyboard doesn't work in the diagnostic test mode when you run the pc doctor dos software?
if that is the case, then there maybe a problem with the keyboard or the motherboard.
