T61 - DVD or CD?

On my order form, the device is described as "Optical Device - DVD Recordable, Ultrabay Slim".

On the machine, the device is labelled as "DVD-Multi CD-RW".

I genuinely believed I was ordering a machine with a DVD writer on it ... does this mean I got the wrong device?

When I open MyComputer, the device appears as "CD Drive (D CD drive". If I RightMouseButton on that and choose Properties and then select the Hardware tab, I see 2 items in "all disk drives".

The first is Hitachi HTS722016K9SA00 with type "disk drive".

The second item is HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-U10N DVD/CD-RW.

On my invoice, it shows the line "Optical Device DVD Recordable, UBS.

So ... is it a DVD or CD. If it's a DVD is it read only or read-write? Can anyone tell me where I stand? Thanks!

I found the message ... but it wasn't the message I thought it was. I posted the configuration about a month earlier and then, when I ordered it, I simply made a mention that I had ordered it without giving the exact wording.

I was always very careful to make sure that this was the machine I configured. The earlier message showed this configuration:

The GSA-U10N is a 8X Dual Layer DVD+-RW Combo Drive made by LG Electronics.

It support both DVD and CD RW.
