T61 LCD question.

Hi all,

I have had my T61 for about yr and now the LCD backlight has completely gone out (I can still see the screen just is very dark).   It is no longer under warrenty so I called lenovo and was told that this was a common problem and that is was either the inverter or the LCD screen itself.  I went ahead and order the inverter and still no luck so I ordered the LCD screen.  I replace the screen it seem to work for 10-15 sec and now I turned the laptop back and on and it is doing it again.  Is there something else I should look at or could the screen have been a bad part I recieved.

Thanks for the help

Eddie

Re: T61 LCD question.

EPA570,

It sounds as though the backlight isn't being turned on - it could be the cable.   Why don't you send me a private message with your model type and serial number and I'll see if we can't help out a bit.     (PMs can be sent from the little envelope in the header at the top of the page)

I appreciate your affirmative actions in buying parts and working on this yourself!

Best regards,

Mark
