Happened to me today... drats.
Laptop on working as usual then screen suddenly becomes dark with interlocking lines, two across and some vertical.
Rebooted, same screen, but it's clear that Windows is still functional.... added a spare monitor and from there you can see the screen but it's a horrible mess.
All my work is on there with only a smidgen of a backup; this is a DISASTER, particularly as I am not in the United States.
HELP!!!!!

you need to get it repaired, there is not much other people can do for you. Also you did not ask any questions or request any particular type of assistance, so exactly what sort of response are you after?

I really hoped someone would tell me what challenges there would be as I am not in the US at the moment?
Would they send me a shipping box here, etc?

Lenovo can't ship your laptop across international borders unless there is prior arrangements. What machine model/type is your thinkpad? xxxx-xxx

If you have a T61 system, that is exhibiting the symptoms of garbled display while in BIOS or the OS, and whether on internal or external video, then please call support. They should be able to help you.
Warranty repair will depend on the Model type - like 6459 or 7662, etc vs the country that you are in.
Here is the page where you can check what countries can provide warranty service for your particular system model type - just enter it on that page and ensure your country is listed. If not, you may need to call the support number for the nearest country where coverage is available, and you may be responsible for shipping in that case.

Already have that problem, I've contacted the Romanian Official Service Center, they've replaced the MB in 10 days.. Laptop still in warranty until august 2010.
