Hi,
I have used ThinkVantage System Update option ti update everything, inlcuding bios, wireless drivers, etc.
I have checked off all recommended updates (there were a lot)
After installing the updates and rebooting my system, the computer is extremely slow. CPU is constantly at 50%, runing some system idle processes.
I cannot go back now and I have no idea how to fix this. I do not have offical support here, so I was hoping that online support would help.
Can someone tell me what's going on or if they had a similar problem?
Thank you

Hmmm,
Could be anything. I've seen something like this on my T400 running Vista, and there are similar reports on the interweb for XP. In my case it was a misbhaving intel service. Here are my notes: http://www.beezmo.com/ThinkPadT400.htm see "VIsta Business 64, High CPU Usage".
Just a WAG,
Z.

Thank you both for replying. I will look at the notes on the link provided. Thanks!
Everything is running slowely, I cannot run 2 programs at the same time, and I am talking about e-mail program and firefox for example. Waiting time for every program to start up is very long, etc. And when I go to task manager System idle process is taking up 50% of CPU.
Also, what's interesting is that some settings have changed to Classical windows mode (log out/log in window, task manager window) and event if I change to XP theme/mode, it remains the same.
I am actually considering backing upa nd restoring the system to factory now, as I have no idea what else to do.
So, let me know if you have any ideas, or I must do factory restore ![]()

I'm not sure whether system idle using 50% of CPU is the good news or bad news
When the system is just sitting there not doing much, system idle should be using 98% or so...
More useful is the fact that something else is using the other 50%. Make sure you check the "show processes from all users" box in task manager and see if you can figure out who the bad actors are.

Just to let you know what was the problem and what I have discovered:
I have downloaded Access Conecctions Think Vantage and installed it (among other TV upgrades). So it turned out that this Access COnnections program was using up my CPU. Once I have removed it everything was back to normal.
So much for Access Connections ![]()
Thank you very much for helping!
