T61 smartcard reader not in device manager???

Hi, I got an T61 7665-12G with a problem about the smartCard reader. Device manager in windows 7 enterprise, do not find it. And the only way to install the driver is to already discovered HW.

I'm certain this model has the smartcard since there is a slot in the side and smartcards slide in without probleme.

So what to do? Is there some kind of fix for this?

There is a similar issue with the 15.4" model when upgrading to windows seven. The solution is to use the vista drivers, but after extracting them, instead of running the install program, go to device manager and the hardware will be listed as "base system device", and you can manually update them within device manager by browsing to the location of the vista drivers.

I suspect this will work for the the 14.1" model too.

Is the smart card reader "enabled" in BIOS under Security - I/O Port Access?

BTW, you guys, what software do you use for your smartcard reader? I want to be able to read a smartcard i got from my sat suplier. Its not in use anymore so i can freely use it for what i want. what software should I look at

Try download from lenovo it should work
