HI, I am having an issue with my new 9 cell lenovo battery, the laptop won't work without the AC adaptor plugged in. My previous battery had failed and have replaced it with a new 9 cell lenovo battery (genuine). Its charged to 100% according to the Power Manager however if I remove the AC adaptor it looses all power. If I shutdown; unplug the adaptor and press the power button nothing happens
Im not sure where to go from here

Do you have another battery you can try to see if the laptop will power from it or if it does the same thing? If it powers, it's the new battery, get a replacement. Also be sure the connectors on the new battery are clean though if it's registering in power manager I would think they are ok.

In the power manager it showed poor health, wouldn't charge anymore and the battery light on the laptop was flashing amber.
and as per you sig, its a 7659-11m
advancedsi, I do not have another battery to test with unfortunately. it really strange as it appears to have fully charged the battery but just won't draw power.

I cannot see any option to test the battery in the bios, I also updated to the latest version (2.27) via system update and still couldn't see an option.
I tried to do battery maitenance/prefrom reset via Power Manager but it just lost power as if I had unplugged the AC adaptor.
I brought the battery off ebay.
here are the battery details
