Thinkpad T61 CD/DVD

I freceive a error message 39 when I try to locate mt CD.DVD. Cannot reinstall from recovery disk because CD/DVD is not being loaced. It shows up in the System Hardware Tab  with a YELLOW Circle at beginning of the Device Code

Go to this website and run the "FixIT" utility provided by Microsoft:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060

This should make that error code 39 go away. If not reseat the CD/DVD drive and reboot the unit.

Hey there,

after installing Automatic Update and running it on 3rd of November (number of drivers got installed) I'm getting same error code (39) and notifications about inability of CDROM to get started because of corrupted drivers.

I have tried above link as well as many "manual" tips but my Optical Disk Drive is still missing

please help
